Maryknoll, Partners with the Missionaries of Charity

Part of Maryknoll's mission in Cambodia is to support other groups working in mission, enabling them to be in Cambodia and to serve the poor and needy in ways that Maryknoll can't undertake itself. In that way the efforts of all of us are multiplied and strengthened.

Currently six of the Phnom Penh Maryknoll community are involved in various kinds of partnerships with the Missionaries of Charity. John and Kathy Tucker have been instrumental in helping the sisters set up a new facility at Cham Chao for taking care of babies with AIDS.

Cori Petro spends two days a week at Cham Chao mopping and cleaning and visiting the patients.

John Barth, Charlie Dittmeier, and Jim Noonan help with masses for the two sisters' communities and also with driving and other tasks as needed.

And Fran Kemmerer, Luise Ahrens, and Regina Pellicore often join in the morning mass with the Monivong community.
