Kevin Conroy is a priest of the Cleveland, Ohio archdiocese. Previously he worked in El Salvador for five years, but now, after returning back to Ohio for a number of years, he has joined the Maryknoll Associate Priest program. After an orientation at Maryknoll, New York, Kevin arrived in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in January, 2006 for a five-year assignment. |

1 March 2006 The first part of a Maryknoll assignment is to language school for six months. Kevin has been going to his regular classes dutifully but also is on the lookout for people to engage in informal conversation for practice. At a little food shop next to the Maryknoll office, Kevin found a perfect conversation partner who enjoys his stories of Central America. |

24 August 2008 Two and a half years later, Kevin is still in Phnom Penh and beginning new work at the Royal University of Phnom Penh where he is perhaps the main force behind a new master's program in psychology. This is in addition to Kevin's work with Little Sprouts, a Maryknoll program that works with infants and small children with HIV/AIDS. |
