Meetings in Hua Hin, Thailand

Sunday / 22 August 2004 / Travel Day

Every year the MMM (the Maryknoll Mekong Missions) meets twice a year at the Salesian Retreat Center in Hua Hin, Thailand. The January meeting is longer and includes a retreat. In August, the Maryknoll members from the MMM (Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam) come together for business.

Maryknollers renewing acquaintances

The Maryknollers from Thailand came to Hua Hin a day early and had a workshop today on conflict resolution. The other MMMers from Cambodia and Vietnam planned their arrival for this afternoon and soon were renewing acquaintances of colleagues from the other countries.

Jim McLaughlin and Michaela and Andrew Thaibinh

Jim McLaughlin went through orientation to join the Maryknoll Lay Missioners with Elizabeth and Michael Thaibinh, the parents of Katrina and Andrew here seen with Jim. Katrina's warm greetings to all her old friends made for a fine welcome!

Salesian Retreat House, Hua Hin, Thailand

Maryknoll groups have been coming to the Salesian Retreat Center in Hua Hin for fifteen years for many reasons. First it is inexpensive compared to other venues, and the center and its staff have always been so welcoming to us. And not least importantly, the beach is just half a kilometer walk across the highway!
